As the CEO and driving force behind SONset Friday Entertainment, Hackett’s mission is to deliver inspiring and impactful entertainment that is rooted in both faith and innovation. From his formative years, he drew inspiration from a singular, powerful influence--God. Throughout his creative career as an award-winning actor, filmmaker, and speaker, his guidance sculpted his passions and instilled in himself a spirit unburdened by the opinions and influences of others. Furthermore, he has developed a passion for vivid storytelling and visual aesthetics, which has led him to become a captivating storyteller on both the big screen and the stage.
Anthony’s journey in entertainment took root at Washington Adventist University, where he majored in Religion with a focus on Metropolitan Ministries. Armed with a diverse skill set encompassing writing, producing, directing, acting, public speaking, and preaching, he embarked on a career marked by stage plays that raised thousands for the different ministries he served. Anthony later transitioned to film, and secured funds and resources for half a dozen productions, negotiating distribution with industry giants such as, but not limited to, AMC Theatres, Great American Pure Flix, and Hometown cinemas.
In addition, the films he’s written, directed, and produced have been released nationwide in Regal Cinemas, AMC Theatres, Hometown Cinemas, and RC Theatres, as well as digital platforms such as Amazon Prime, Redbox, UP Faith & Family, and TUBI. With a proven track record for producing results, he’s coordinated with cities to secure filming permits and negotiate tax incentives.
Anthony is also well-versed in navigating logistical intricacies of procuring diverse filming locations, including prisons, schools, and local businesses, ensuring each setting greatly contributes to the overall authenticity and immersive experience of the film.
Anthony Hackett’s role as a writer and director has led to the creation of four feature films, one documentary, and numerous shorts, impressively earning 17 film festival awards and over 20 nominations. As an actor, he has had the amazing opportunity to share the screen with luminaries like Tommy Ford, Kevin "Kevonstage" Fredericks, Karen Abercrombie, and Cameron Arnett, to name a few, showcasing his versatility across genres from comedy and drama to thrillers. He’s also traversed the US, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands as a sought-out speaker and preacher, engaging diverse audiences both big and small, from universities and high schools to government and church events. Notably, he has also served as the chosen guest speaker for a Department of Homeland Security event. Anthony is renowned for his storytelling approach, which is also peppered with a touch of personable humor for a more resonant message.
Beyond the spotlight, he finds joy in cherished family moments with his wife and two daughters. In his spare time, he can often be found playing basketball or chess. Anthony also enjoy expanding his knowledge by researching various topics on YouTube. These personal interests not only bring balance to his life but also add vibrancy and depth to his creative pursuits.
